News on Xplore Lakeside
Given the current market environment related to: product availability, product costs, labor costs, labor availability, and continued inflation in the markets, I have decided to not reopen the Xplore Lakeside Restaurant at Lake Balboa.
While we had some great plans and were looking forward to reopening this month, I just don’t have the energy to commit 24×7 which is what it would take to reopen. I know this is disappointing to many, but I have to consider my personal health and well-being and the commitment I would make to my staff to ensure we were successful.
Our other outlets at The Beehive and Artfully Baked and Brewed will remain open and doing all the great things we have done over the last 3-4 years. The Beehive is going strong with a new menu and fantastic music and events every month. Melody is creating some new bakery, breakfast, and lunch items which are so delicious.

We went to Beehive last night and it was so fun. No music but potato skins were delicious and they had Razorback game on. Thank you. As far as Explore the Lake it is a beautiful setting. If someone would open a lower price restaurant with food like Last Chance ( potato skins, BLT, lower price drinks, hamburgers, chili, etc. I think the summer boaters and everyday eat out customers would pack the place. Just some suggestions to whoever looks into restaurant. People say they would support fine dining but how many times are they going to spend that kind of money to eat out. We went to Last Chance sometimes 3 times a week The marina is good but they close so early and told me they don’t have the kitchen to do that kind of cooking. Thank you Greg and Trisha for putting your heart and soul into Xplore. We are sad to see it close, but understand. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and enjoying refreshments and appetizers, and showing it off to visitors. Enjoy some new found freedom and weight off your shoulders! I loved Xplore and will truly miss it. Sorry so many circumstances beyond your control have led to your decision to close.😪 But understanding and above all your health is most important. That care and God bless! You provided a wonderful dining experience!
