This letter was sent to the HSVPOA Board of Directors because we have been contacted by a number of concerned property owners.
First, we would like to thank all of our Board Members for the commitment you have shown to the Village. The sacrifice you make for the community is appreciated by many.
Hot Springs Village has undergone a lot of changes in the not so distant past. Our most recent event was the resignation of our newly-hired General Manager. This resignation has led to an interim General Manager being sought.
We would like to request that the Board let the interim General Manager guide the ship while a rational and thorough search for a new long-term General Manager is conducted. The decision on who to hire for the General Manager position should be carefully contemplated and researched.
Presently, we are missing two Board Members. Normally, a full Board is comprised of seven Members but we only have five. Also, two of the five Board Members are appointees. They were not elected. The present Board consists of only three elected Members. The decision of who to hire for General Manager is an enormous responsibility and should be made only with a full Board of duly elected Members.
We are requesting that the board consider waiting until the new Board is seated before making a hiring decision. Slow and steady gets the prize.
We can’t undo the past, but we can go forward for a better future. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request.
Respectfully submitted, Joe and Cheryl Dowden
