Villagers– It is Voting Time
We have or will soon have our ballots and it is time to use our vote to make our wishes known. I hope the majority agree with me and want the Village direction to change from where it has been going while lead by the Board and POA of the last 3 years (at least).
If we want to get to 4 votes and control the vote of the Board we need to vote for Lloyd, Tucker, and Dick (LTD).
With Diana already on the Board and with the LTD 3 that will give us the 4 votes needed to control the Board and get the Village back on track.
Due to Buddy Dixon’s resignation, we have a choice of whether to vote for a 4th Board member. In my case, I intend to just vote for 3 and let the chips fall where they may.
I’m doing this for 2 reasons
- First, of those elected, the one with the least votes will finish Buddy’s term which has only 1 year remaining. I don’t want LTD to receive the 1-year term. Not voting for a 4th may help prevent that from happening.
- Second, neither of the other 2 candidates would be my choice for a Board member. Nikki Choyce is Chair of the CMP Advisory Committee and clearly onboard with the current Board and POA, not a good choice for me. Kirk Denger is just too all over the place and, while I think he is more on one side than the other, it is simply hard to tell at times.
So, I urge you to think carefully about your vote and consider only voting for 3, LTD.

Thanks for the details of your logical explanation. The way you put the facts together helps make sense of this somewhat counter-intuitive strategy.

I hope everyone that wants Our Village back votes this way, only for 3. It should give us 4 voices plus the CHAIR position. This way we only need to deal with two sell outs and a 1 year term delegate.

If I may offer a third reason to vote LTD only.
As Patrick points out supporters of LTD are hardly likely to vote for Nikki Choyce. But, by the same token, her supporters are hardly likely to vote for LTD. So if both groups of supporters cast votes for Kirk Denger the result is that he could easily end up with enough votes to take one of the longer term seats thereby pushing one of LTD down to the 1 year term or (if Nikki Choyce gets enough votes for a seat herself) out of the running altogether.
Voting for Kirk Denger is, therefore doubly risky for all LTD supporters.

You folks that are trying to persuade everyone to vote for only 3 candidates are doing a dis-service to Villagers.
So what, if one of the 3 amigos (LTD) ends up in a one-year term. SO WHAT!!
Are you so uncertain and afraid that if Dick, Lloyd or Tucker ends up in a one-year term that they will NEVER be elected again?
You’re selling LTD short and you’re mis-guiding the voting public by asking them to NOT VOTE for 4. It’s every Property Owner’s RIGHT to cast ALL their votes and “let the chips fall where they may” as you say.
By voting for ONLY 3 you are opening the door VERY WIDE to granting a seat on the Board to someone who is more dangerous than any of the other legacy BOD members – ie Nikki Choyce!
By not casting all four votes, (LTD and Kirk), you are opening the distinct and real possibility that Nikki Choyce will end up on the BOD – and you are making a VERY WRONG assumption that should Nikki get elected that it will be only for one year. You’re making a BIG MISTAKE!
What you VOTE for 3 proponents are missing is that by putting Nikki Choyce on the BOD (a Lesley clone) – it will give Lesley the inside track on all affairs that are managed by the BOD. Lesley will have the perfect MOLE in the system and I can assure you all that she will use it to her advantage. And with Nikki Choyce on the BOD she will cause havoc at every turn. That’s what she’s made of. We’ve already seen her divisive behavior on the CMPAC.
Please do not underestimate this woman’s ability to sabotage the BOD’s potential plurality with a win by LTD.
The goal in this next election is to keep Nikki OFF THE BOD. Period!
Please cast all of your 4 votes and direct your ballot checkmarks to LTD and Kirk.
It’s our only chance to begin taking back our Community.

Your premise, is I fear, false. By voting only 3 you do nothing whatever to assist Nikki Choyce’s vote – it will be whatever it is. Neither do you increase the vote total for Kirk Denger – again, it will be whatever it is.
However, by adding votes to Kirk Denger you are increasing his chances of not only getting on the board but, if Nikki Choyce gets enough votes to get a seat in her own right, of knocking one of LTD out of any seat at all.
Why, if you support LTD, would you want to take that risk? (However unlikely that scenario may be)…?
The safest way to ensure that Ms Choyce and Mr Denger get as few votes as possible is simply not to vote for either.

Are you all listening to what the three candidates joined at the hip are saying. Tony Ohmondro has said emphatically that no one who is not a Village resident, a relative of a resident, or given a work pass should be allowed in the Village. Therefore, we won’t be allowed to have people come in for garage sales, estate sales, to attend church or church-related activities, or eat at our restaurants unless someone calls them in. This will change the Village drastically..

Thank you Deacon P. You are exactly right. I only wish that others fighting Kirk (either by accusations or by just suggesting only vote LTD) will be responsible for putting on the board someone that is very pro CMP and CEO. Putting Nikki on the board will be pitting Nancy, Nikki and Tormey against LTD and Diana. If one of this group of 4 is chair of the BOD they will be voting only in a tie. You will also guarantee tee a other CEO contract renewal in 2021.

I don’t know where you pro Vote for 3 folks learned your math lessons but please let me tell you, as a matter of FACT, mathematically, you all need to cast ALL of your 4 Votes and they should be for LTD & Kirk.
This is the only way to keep Nikki Choyce on the outside looking in as someone said earlier!
The more votes for LTD & Kirk – the LESS for Nikki Choyce.
Why is this concept so difficult to understand? It’s all supported mathematically. More votes for LTD & Kirk means less votes for Nikki Choyce!
You folks that are suggesting that a Vote for 3 is the BEST way to win are simply WRONG – so, so WRONG!
CAST ALL OF YOUR 4 VOTES AND please cast them for LTD & KIrk!
WOW! How can you all not understand this simple concept. MORE IS BETTER in this case! LESS is what we want for Nikki Choyce! YIKES! Please don’t listen to the anything else!
YIKES – I just don’t get why anyone would think otherwise!
"fire" prevention

What is the best strategy to prevent &/or deal with L, T, or D getting hair-trigger “fired” (or “fired” again!)?

Let’s imagine, for a moment, that there are only, and exactly, 1,000 LTD supporters and 1,000 Nikki Choyce supporters. Neither of these supporters will cast votes for the other candidate. Let us also suppose that of those who support Nikki Choyce, three quarters also vote for Kirk Denger either as first, or second choice. Similarly, let us suppose that half of LTD supporters also vote for Kirk Denger. What is the result of this election then?
Choyce =1000
Sherman = 1000
Omahondro = 1000
Garrison = 1000
Denger = 1250
So Denger wins a 3 year term outright, and for the rest it’s a tie. Seats will be allocated by ‘drawing straws’ and someone (who?) loses out completely. Given that LTD need three seats and Choyce only one the odds are that one of L, T or D will be loser. We would have a 3-3 split on the board with Denger as the decision maker!
Now consider what happens if the LTD supporters vote LTD only:
Choyce =1000
Sherman = 1000
Omahondro = 1000
Garrison = 1000
Denger = 750
Now the result is that Denger loses out. The four seats on the board are still allocated by ‘drawing straws’ but all three of LTD are guaranteed at least a 1 year seat. Now we would have (assuming Diana generally supports LTD) a guaranteed 4-3 majority on the board.
Overly simplistic – yes, but the principle remains valid. This is why the best strategy, if you support LTD, is not to vote for anyone other than those three.
"fire" control

AFTER Dick was elected, he was quickly fired rather than warned or reprimanded. What if a similar scenario happens again…wouldn’t it be better to have 3 remaining conservatives (debatable or not) rather than only 2?

Dear “fire”,
Dick was removed because he wasn’t part of the majority. Our candidates will have the majority and there will be no unjust firings. That is the difference. Thank you for your input. – Cheryl

To All…the 6″x11″ glossy colored LTD mailers are now arriving in approximately 10,000 non-resident HSV Property Owners as I type. With the consensus of the LTD candidates I had the Hot Springs Village People website printed on the mailers…along with Know the Facts. Soon a great deal off non-residents will also have access to keeping current & informed on HSV matters. Joe and Cheryl may end up with a larger circulation than the HSV Voice…as it should be!
