Hot Springs Village Names New General Manager

Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. July 13, 2020. By a unanimous vote, the Hot Springs Village Board of Directors (BOD) has named Charles King as the new General Manager for the village.  King will take over the position on August 1 and will be presented to the public at the Board of Directors’ meeting on August 19.

The process of identifying a new General Manager was facilitated by a professional recruiter and a Human Resources professional – both residents of Hot Springs Village. One of four finalists, King was interviewed by the Board via Zoom and was thoroughly vetted by the recruiter, the Human Resources professional, and during an in-person meeting with members of the Board.

Explained King about his new position, “I am extremely excited about joining  HSV and helping to continue the rich history of this beautiful place. I look forward to working hard to improve all areas of operations to bring a true sense of pride to the village.”

King was previously Managing Director of Lodging Operations at SnowBird Resort, Utah, where he had oversight of 4 large HOA’s as well as financial and budgeting responsibility in excess of $50 million. He also held significant management positions at resorts and multi-amenity operations in Arizona, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas.

At one point in his career, as Regional Vice President of Operations, King oversaw resorts and properties from the Hoover Dam to Dallas markets. His duties included total construction supervision and revitalization of the Stoneleigh Hotel and Spa in Dallas, Texas.  King has had public works, waste water plants and street maintenance operations under his purview as well.  In addition, in his various positions of significant management, marketing has been a key part of his responsibility, along with customer service and guest experience.

King grew up in Dallas, Texas; vacationed in the Hot Springs area during his youth; and played college football at the University of Tulsa.
