Near the end of the HSVPOA Board Meetings, the Board Members are given a chance to express their final thoughts. What follows below are these comments from the HSVPOA October 20, 2021 Board Meeting.
Board Member, Bob McLeod: I think we’ve shown to everybody that what we’re trying to do is tie this down so that any future revenue that we’ve specified to specific categories gets spent in that specific category and we can’t change it. And we need to be able to put in policy those safeguards so that we don’t change it and so future Boards don’t change it. And it is something we need going down the road, because we are going to have this every year – because we are going to roll this thing forward every year. And we want to have those categories and have the money spent in those categories and so you can see that we are working on this and this is not the first discussion. We’ve had this discussion several times. So, I thought we had it solved, but as you can see, we don’t have it quite solved yet. And we’re working on it and we’ll get it solved and it’s going to work and it’s going to be good for the Village.
Board Chair, Joanie Corry: From my point of view, be glad that they dug their heels in, each seen a different issue that could have been a bigger issue. And we will resolve it. As Robert said, ‘it will get resolved.’ Coreena [Fetterhoff, Controller], if nothing else, will have to beat them up, whatever, I don’t know.
Board Member, Gary Belair: I agree we are all headed toward the same goal. It’s just…
Corry: Yes, it’s just getting there.
Belair: … making sure that the language – so that there are no questions.
Corry: And you see that there isn’t always agreement on what goes on on the Board.
Board Vice-Chair, Tucker Omohundro: Well some of this stuff is not just black and white. I wish it was but it’s not.
Corry: Right.
McLeod: And we get emails every day from many experts out in the Village that whatever we do, it gets picked apart and we want to make sure that we got all our bases covered and that’s what we are working on.
Corry: Right.

HSV property owners have the right to question board actions, and future board have right to change things and for the board to think and state otherwise is breach of fiduciary duty. Never heard of an elected board acting so anti property owners association before, the above is “self dealing” Oddly enough understood what Director Ormondo was concerned about on not making it too difficult to vote on “compelling need” using “super majority”because I read the governing documents even though some like policy are redundant. That compelling need and how to address should be addressed by board before revisions to policy with input from the governance committee. before revising
