What is the “Community Challenge”?
Explore, Experience and Discover all that beautiful Hot Springs Village has to offer! “The Community Challenge” is an opportunity to do just that. This 50th-Anniversary activity is a scavenger hunt comprising of teams of 4 to 10 members. The “Community Challenge,” affords everyone the chance to really get to know and enjoy the many recreational activities which the Village offers. The team members complete fun tasks on a list and earn points.
Who is sponsoring the “Community Challenge”?
The “Community Challenge” is hosted by the HSV Recreation Department, in sponsorship with the Hot Springs Village Chamber of Commerce.
An organizational meeting for the “Community Challenge” to be held on February 19, 2020
An organizational meeting will be held to learn more about the “Community Challenge” and pick up team registration forms on February 19, 2020, at 6:30 p.m at the Woodlands Auditorium. The deadline for registration is February 29, 2020.
When is the “Community Challenge Scavenger Hunt?
The “Community Challenge” Scavenger Hunt occurs over a six-month period, from April to October 2020. The kickoff for tasks will begin on April 20, 2020, and the completion date is October 20, 2020.
Prizes for the winning team
The prize for collecting the most points by completing these tasks are all amenities paid for 2021. That’s worth $3,750 per person or $37,500 for a team of 10.
The prize package includes 2021 annual membership/passes for the following:
- Unlimited green fees
- Coronado Fitness Center
- Coronado Tennis Center
- Pickleball
- Lawn bowling
- Bocce ball
- Coronado Library
- Brand new outdoor pool
- Dog park
- Tickets to the “Winter at the Woodlands”
- Tickets to the”Ponce de Leon Show Package.”

Wow. Looking into t-shirts. I am so excited I can’t stand it.
Wonder if the “hunt” will include neglected buildings, abandoned lots, closed businesses, non-maintained trails, fake bike lanes, mountain bike trails, town centers, pocket neighborhoods, abandoned RV parks, closed businesses, profit-less restaurants, leaking irrigation systems, crack sealing machines (oh, wait, we did find that), non-functional entry gates, secret board meetings, and POA records that are still being hidden??
One would only hope.
Or how about this? A scavenger hunt for prospective home buyers into HSV??

So let me get this straight…the “prize” is simply the fees being waived on things that I should not have to pay extra for in the first place. Most all communities like ours do not have extra fees for everything…they are included in the fees everyone pays.
And, we have to pay for the lunch.
This is one great contest – that’s for sure!!!
I will gladly work for 6 months to get such a great waiver. I am sure hundreds and hundreds will as well.
It might make more sense to have a scavenger hunt for the people who are refusing to pay their POA dues…how about that???
