It is that time of year, once more! And no, I am not talking about the New Year. ‘Tis the season in Hot Springs Village when, eager, able, brave, and willing Property Owners throw in their hats to run for HSVPOA Board Seats. It is not a job for the faint of heart and one must be willing to push up his/her shirt sleeves, don the specs, and delve into the depths of the governing documents and POA. Patience, stamina, and thick skin are absolute requirements, to name a few.
All applications are due to be turned into Interim General Manager, John Paul, by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, the POA will notify the sitting Board and Property Owners of the certified candidates. In the past, notification often occurred ahead of schedule. This certification takes a little bit of time because the POA must verify that each candidate received the required number of signatures and that the signers are Property Owners in good standing.
On Friday, February 25, 2022, voting information/ballots will be mailed to all Property Owners in good standing.
Paper ballots must be received by the third-party election service no later than 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Online voting also closes at the same time and date. The results of the election will be announced on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Candidates, please send us your resumes!
Hot Springs Village People is once again publishing resumes of all HSVPOA Board Candidates who would like to have their resumes published on this website. Please send email inquiries and information to pennywisebuys@gmail.com. This is a free service and candidates have the choice of shutting off commenting or not, as they see fit. Once the resume is formatted, Hot Springs Village People sends a link to the unpublished article for the candidate’s approval before publishing. We also request that the candidate’s photograph be published with the resume. The resumes will not be published until after the Board announces who is running in the election. It is helpful to Hot Springs Village People dot com to have the resumes/photographs ahead of time so we can give the candidates and resumes the time deserved in order to make sure everything is correct and formatted to suit. Additionally, if candidates would like to add additional information to resumes, that is fine. In other words, they are not restricted by the 500-word limit that the POA requires. All information submitted is confidential until it is published and will only be published upon the POA officially announcing the approved candidates.
If candidates would like to write an additional article(s) also, we are happy to publish them on the site.
Good luck to all candidates and thank you for your efforts to participate in the governance of our beautiful Village.
