Now is not the time to quit
Don’t bail out……yes a couple of the four engines are belching smoke but it’s not time to quit. Keep flying this thing to a safe landing. Yes, the Villagers fell asleep at the wheel and foolishly trusted the management of the Village, however, they have awoken. A groundswell is emerging because of a group of people who have dug in their heels and said….”Enough of this strong arm, backdoor management, no transparency and the latest crushing of free speech. How dare we Villagers point out the failed management. How dare we point out the failure of the BOD to fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities to the property owners. How dare we speak up!! Those who, last year, started speaking up and providing facts…yes facts, have withstood the names we were called. Despite the insinuations and condescending comments by the supporters of a failed regime….we have stood our ground.
There has been great harm because we were asleep
More and more property owners are now understanding the bamboozle, and the realization of the lies and underhanded maneuvers carried on by the CEO and her group. The cramming of the CMP down our throats despite the majority do not want it. We are told we are harming the Village because we are telling the truth. There is and has been great harm done because the Villagers were asleep.
Now they want millions for Balboa
We are in this fight because we love the Village. Forty-eight hours before the new BOD members were to take their position the “old” BOD extended the CEO’s contract. They also pushed through the pool project which we can’t afford. Those who were against it were not against a pool….we were against doing it at this time. We’re swimming in red ink yet they did it anyway. Now they want to raise millions for the Balboa project. How? With an assessment…..how else?
Moving money from checking & putting it in reserve is smoke and mirrors
Do you remember when HSV management said they put 1.5 million into the reserve fund earlier this year as a way to imply HSV finances are in good condition? Many of you thought this information meant HSV’s financial status is good……that was the idea. That’s what they wanted you to think. The statement was true regarding 1.5 million being added to the reserve fund, however, it did not explain the source of the money. The truth is management uses a category they track called cash and cash equivalents……it’s in the financial report. The HSV reserve fund was already low before the transfer. Moving money from checking and putting it into the reserve fund is smoke and mirrors. If I have $10 in my right pocket (reserve fund) and $20 dollars in my left pocket (checking/savings), removing the $20 dollars from the left pocket (checking/savings) and putting it in my right pocket (reserve fund) doesn’t increase the amount of money I actually have. I still have only $30 dollars.
This is the nonsense our management is pulling.
How dare the peasants ask questions
Do you all realize the severity of the situation regarding our rights as property owners? When a CEO can decide they don’t like what board members are doing because they are making the job “difficult” so a grievance is filed to remove them…and let’s be honest…that is the intent. These two BOD members are simply watching our backs and the CEO doesn’t like it. Shame on the rest of the BOD members for allowing such shenanigans. Free speech? Free thoughts and discussion? Not here in the Village. Summon the police! Silence the culprit….how dare the peasants to ask questions. How dare they point out the flaws and failures of management. The dictator has spoken.
We are at a tipping point
We are at a tipping point If the dictator gets away with what is happening, the CMP will be crammed down our throats lock stock and barrel. Property owners will have zero say in what is being done to us. The BOD must take back their rightful position as the managers of the Village. THEY are the ones who SHOULD be telling the self-appointed CEO what to do….not the other way around as it is now.
We must continue the fight
We property owners MUST continue the fight. We must rid this community of the CEO (and the title….should be a GM), and vote in a BOD with a backbone.
An anonymous comment is worth absolutely nothing
As an aside…..any anonymous comment is worth nothing…..absolutely nothing. If you don’t have the fortitude to place your name on a comment then it is either such a lame post you are embarrassed about it, or not willing to really make a stand for what you believe to be the right path.

I whole heartedly agree!! We must remove the CEO and the board members that blindly support her. I deeply respect and fully support the two board new members, Garrison and Podawitz, who are trying to right this ship. God bless this Village!!

Despite Ken’s proclamation to the contrary, anonymous comments should be &/or ARE worth something! (Throwing the baby out with the bath water is not the best strategy). As a percentage of total lot owners, the percentage of owners willing to identify themselves on this website is likely small, and for sound reasons. Some do not care to be associated with the ones who cannot get their points across diplomatically. They find such displays to be embarrassing and frightening.

Go Ken ! I love the comments swimming in Red Ink. I’ll pay for you to do this as the take 5 on kvre. Quite a few of us were not apathetic we just didn’t have the solidarity we do now. We didn’t know who we could work with. Nor who would believe us. There is power in numbers and we are growing .we need more action not less.

Ken is right on.
It is not time for the passengers to bail out. It is time to storm thru the cockpit door and toss the pilot and copilots out. No golden parachutes either.
There are many riding on this plane who can safely pilot it to a safe landing. But first we need to get to the controls.

We must take our Village back from these thief’s. They are robbing us blind.
Well not blind it is behind right in front of our eyes while they snicker behind our backs. I think we the people are growing in numbers and strengths so they better start watching their backs! So LN is in Italy’s? It’s a sure bet it’s on our money one way or another. She MUST GO!

He well stated. I hope you sent to the BoD.
I believe you hit the nail on the head with the left/right pocket example.
Many of us are seeing that has become the norm in portraying our finances.
e.g. the pool money has been budgeted, therefore it is all good.

Our board members who have stood strong and stayed the course based on what they ran on, are rewarded for doing exactly what they said they would do and getting called on the carpet for it. No good deed goes unpunished. The fight to have the Village the majority demands must go on, AND WILL. Be prepared for a tough election cycle coming up. They will not go silently into the night and can’t afford for more like-minded individuals to be elected to the board. Be prepared for the worst, but hope for the best. Keep educating with facts; keep standing up for your right of free speech; keep asking for documentation on issues of concern to you, but please do so by taking the high road and staying organized and calm.

I am never bailing out! We need to take back our community before legacy BOD/CEO destroy & bankrupt this community. Leadership on this web site start a fund at a local bank. All members will contribute, get the best attorneys in Little Rock ( perhaps coopers attorneys) & lets get this solved. Respectfully, Minn Daly

I’m new here (April, 2019). I bailed IN! And I’m staying and joining the fight to return HSV to a well-managed, fiscally sane community of happy people.
I’ve been quiet thus far since I’m a new resident and still ignorant of many details, but I’m getting the overall picture and I have MUCH to say in the weeks ahead. We love it here and can’t believe how beautiful it is, but I think we’re going to have to do a little heavy-lifting in order to keep it this way. I’m willing.

Lesley Nalley and her gang of thieves past and present have reached the point of imperturbability where they no longer pay any attention to complaints. Particularly to those people who, despite the appeal of this author, still lack the guts to sign their names to posts. An insider I know said Nalley sent people to the local radio station and the spineless Village Voice to warn them off making an issue of her salary or other subjects that make her angry. She is that dreaded thing, a malignant narcissist with power and a police force behind her. Just be glad officers are only looming alongside people who speak out at meetings rather than using a taser. The people who hold out hope that a lawsuit will have any effect should abandon that right now. It would go nowhere, chewing up legal costs that would end up with a court affirming the right of the CEO and the BOD to continue what they are doing. They have crossed every “t’ and dotted every “i.” Everything is locked up and legal. The long sleep of the village without a watchdog newspaper to warn of the slide into our state of virtual enslavement to Nalley and her rubber-stamping board of dashboard bobble heads is now reaping a sour harvest that will take as long to digest as it did to ferment. Skoal!

So – here we go again. I nicely constructed narrative along with several meaningful replies despite the threat of the author to disregard anything posted anonymously. Well done.
Let me sum it up for you all.
It appears there will be NO groundswell of Property Owner actions to remove Lesley and her cronies on the BOD including turncoat Tormey.
Our one and only hope is to replace the failing BOD members during the next three elections – that’s THREE LONG YEARS. And that presumes we don’t elect more turncoats like Tormey.
All the perfectly crafted narratives posted anywhere on social media will not change this fact.
Get used to it.
There is NOBODY in HSV that has the means and/or courage to formulate a Property Owners Coalition, hire a shark lawyer, and hit these traitors where it hurts the most – in their pocket books.
So just sit back – relax – and watch our Village, as Lesley and her crew flushes it down the proverbial toilet.
Don’t know about you all – but I’m getting out – that is – if I can sell my property!
See you all that the Balboa meeting where I’m sure there will be loud resistance to Lesley’s plan but in the end, you know as well as I do – none of our complaints and objections will matter. They are going to spend that $6M as fast as they can because the CMP is a governing document and Lesley is calling the shots. Period end!
Face facts people! We have been beaten – for now – but 3 years from now – we may be able to start the resurrection of HSV with Board members who will actually champion the voices of Property Owners. But that ain’t going to happen anytime soon.
Get used to it!
Tina

Excellent job Ken! I’m relatively new here in the village, however I was stunned early on of the Lake of transparency by the CEO and BOD! Stunned is as mild as I could put it!
The longer I’m here the more shocked I am at the PAID leadership and by those who were elected. It truly is crazy that our CEO files a complaint against two ELECTED members of the board, for doing exactly what their campaign’s said they would do.That is why the were voted in!!
I have several friends who are interested in moving here to what I call a Paradise
However the first thing they ask about after housing is how sound the POA and finances in the village are and what we pay the directors of the village. Up to a few weeks ago I had to tell them it was being kept a secret! The look on their face said it all….. we are staying away from that place!!!
We need the CEO to realize she is here to do OUR bidding, not that of some dreamer or scammer! Our elected board needs o be more responsive to the
people not the CEO!
The Board should ask the people about the last board’s actions, such as the needed votes to remove UNFIT persons in position that they control.
It is as easy to do as it was to change it in the first place! Unless of course that person files a complaint against you because you dared challenge them and how that person does their job!!!

No ..no ,they can’t take that away from me…my dear fellow villagers, please be advised, unfortunately the last two chairman ,yes it was weidert and weis, that got us in this mess, and now Erickson is also following in their footsteps,,remember they hired twiggs, and Lesley nally, however the blame is entirely on the board ,..that we the people elected,..unfortunately they are not representing ,the property owners,we must get a petition going to remove the incompetent board members ,sooner than later..
