HSV- SHARING IN DIFFICULT TIMES
VILLAGERS IN NEED,
Folks we have many people in this Village and the surrounding area that are elderly, and have significant health issues. We have many who are currently undergoing various treatments that need special cleaning items such as bleach, hand sanitizers, and hand wipes, Kleenex. Currently these items are difficult to obtain. So this is a Plea to all Villagers.
IF YOU ARE ILL , HAVE HEALTH ISSUES THAT REQUIRE SPECIAL CLEANING ITEMS AND ARE RUNNING LOW OR ARE OUT PLEASE POST YOUR NEED HERE!!!!
Please include your name, the items you need and a contact number so that we can ensure you receive the items as quickly as possible.
If the items are personal and you don’t feel comfortable publicly requesting, contact me at Cheri.nelson51@gmail.com.
IF YOU HAVE THE ITEMS NEEDED AND CAN SHARE PLEASE RESPOND HERE SO THAT WE CAN GET THE ITEMS TO THE FOLKS IN NEED!!!!
We need everyone to help monitor this site, as well as this post on Next Door. If you see a plea for items and you have extra, you can post here and I will ensure the items are picked up and taken to those in need.
We need volunteers to help deliver items as well. This is a time we as Villagers can and will shine. Let’s show the rest of the country and the State how things can be done.

Cheri…please approach the HSV Voice to put your MOST important message in their next edition. Unfortunately…some of the folks who might be most vulnerable do not use social media. I too am available to help out in ANY way.
Thank you for leading this urgent and important support here in our Village!

Also…as an afterthought maybe reaching out to Frank Leeming to share with his contact list might be helpful. I will have your message sent out to all who are on the Cortez Lake Shorliners email distribution list. The more we reach the better.
Again…I so appreciate you taking the bull by the horns on this🙏

Cheri and Linda,
Thank you so much for organizing this effort. So many in the village are willing and able to help, but having a point person to manage the volunteers and those in need will maximize the efficiency of all the good will and assistance that is offered. As you know, I am available to help in any way I can.
I also think Lorri Street’s two comments at 03/13/2020 — 6:03 pm and 03/13/2020 — 6:53 pm are excellent and would enhance the efforts.

I work in LR 3 days a week and am happy to stop anywhere between LR and here to pick up supplies for people here in the village.

I would love to help. I am well-stocked on many items and – if the need arises – I am also able to take in dog-friendly pets. If someone is ill and needs a hand in caring for their furbabies, I can certainly step in. We have a securely fenced yard and I’m home all the time.
We have small dogs that are very good-natured and know how to share space and laptime!
I’m also a passably decent cook and can help prepare and deliver meals to anyone needing a hand. If something needs doing, I’m happy to help.
If you’re creating a spreadsheet of needs and/or items available and abilities that may help, please keep me in the loop. Thank you all for organizing this!!!

Get the needs out there and we will help as much as we can.
This kind of action is the best reason for living in the Village.

Ok Folks, what we have here is a fantastic group willing to help, But a lack of folks reporting a need. So m thinkin, the place to start is with our Churches. Would a member of each Church, obtain a list of their shut-ins, and elderly that may need help and a way to contact them. Once we have a list and confirm their needs, we can match a volunteer that is available.
