Hot Springs Villagers, did someone say, “cookies?”

I don’t care what the question is, for many folks, cookies are the answer and Lezle Jacobs is here in Hot Springs Village to help fill that niche. While a cookie a day may not keep the doctor away, it certainly can provide satisfaction when one’s taste buds have a craving for something sweet.

Lezle’s Journey

Lezle is the owner of The Utmost Cookie Company. [Go here to visit The Utmost Cookie Company website and click here to visit the Facebook Page.] The baker said, “after retiring from the mental health field, I decided to revive my cookie decorating skills and bless my friends and family with my delicious (and beautiful) cookies for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Soon after, the idea of The Utmost Cookie Company came to fruition. I began selling to local neighborhoods, surrounding communities, and online.” Taking inspiration from her favorite devotional, “My Utmost for His Highest” by Oswald Chambers, Lezle chose the name of her newly-formed cottage bakery.

Lezle originally hails from Houston, Texas but has also lived in Georgia and Florida. Initially purchasing her Hot Springs Village home in 2015 as a vacation getaway from Texas, she eventually became so fond of the community that she decided to make Hot Springs Village her full-time home.

After moving here full-time in 2017 to finish her occupational therapist clinical, she was offered a position at Little Rock Baptist Hospital as an occupational therapist. Lezle said, “I worked in acute care, specializing in mental health and addiction. I have a special place in my heart for those who struggle with these issues. This was a second career for me. In September 2021, I retired from this position as I wanted to spend more time in Hot Springs Village as several members of my family have also relocated here.”

Lezle detailed, “I started making cookies right after I retired and loved it. After several requests, I decided to open the Utmost Cookie Company. I am a cottage baker and follow the guidelines set forth by the Arkansas Freedom Food Act updated in July 2021. I also make cupcakes and hope to add some other items in the future.”Β

Cookies for All Occasions

Lezle bakes and decorate cookies for all occasions. You name it and she probably has an idea for a cookie for your party or event. Lezle said, “I specialize in sugar cookies in various flavors; traditional vanilla, chocolate, pumpkin spice, and lemon. I can personalize cookies or do any specific design requested. Additionally, I am able to do logo cookies on my “Eddie” edible printer. This printer has been on the market for two years and can print anything onto an iced cookie. Logo cookies are a great way to promote businesses. All our cookies are individually heat-sealed for freshness.”

Lezle has the following items on her agenda:

  • Easter and Mother’s Day Pop-up Sale (Dates will be announced on Facebook and The Voice.)
  • Pop-up sales for additional special occasions. (Lezle’s pop-up sale at Village Mercantile was very successful and she loved meeting neighbors.)
  • Beginner cookie class – more details coming
  • Local vendor shows
  • Ladies Tea at some point depending on venue, possibly making it a fundraiser

Lezle said, “I genuinely believe that regardless of what you do, whether designing homes, helping those who struggle with addiction and mental health issues, or decorating cookies, it is imperative to give your utmost effort and devotion.”

Due to the cookie maker’s desire to help individuals suffering from mental health issues, “The Utmost Cookie Company joyfully donates 10% of its net profit to various ministries that help those who struggle with mental health issues and addiction,” stated Lezle.
