Fire Leaves Hot Springs Village House Heavily Damaged

On Sunday, January 30, 2022, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Hot Springs Village Fire Department responded to the scene of a house fire in the Village.

Upon arrival at 58 Badalona Drive, it was observed that flames were coming through the roof from approximately the center to the right side of the residence. In addition, heavy smoke was coming through the garage door. During the scene size up, it was also noted that the main breaker to the house was tripped.

The crew quickly attached to the hydrant near the residence and also deployed a foam fire suppressant. Firefighters, making entry to the home, rapidly controlled the fire which was fully extinguished around 9:23 a.m. The front and right side of the structure appears to have sustained the heaviest damage.

Entergy responded and pulled the electric meter. Additionally, the Hot Springs Village Water Department responded and turned the water off to the residence.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

No one was living in the house at the time of the incident and the Hot Springs Village Police Department contacted the owner who lives out of state.

The house was up for sale. An unnamed source reported that the tenant had previously moved out in the late evening of Friday, January 28.

Both the Fountain Lake and Jessieville Fire Department assisted in the process.
