Xplore Concert Series Presents 2020 Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame Inductees to Perform on Sunday, August 8 from 3-5 at the Beehive in Hot Springs Village.

Last month three world-class Arkansas musicians were among those who were
inducted into the 2020 Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame. The Xplore Concert Series has
added a special concert to honor three of the Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame
inductees and showcase their talent.

The Voice of Jazz in Hot Springs, Shirley Chauvin

Shirley Chauvin, who has been the voice of jazz in Hot Springs for decades, founded the Hot Springs Jazz Society more than 30 years ago. She is also the featured vocalist with the Stardust Big Band, also known as the Arkansas Jazz Orchestra, for a concert and ballroom dancing at the beautiful ballroom at the Arlington hotel once a month. Shirley’s vocals are as beautiful as any jazz singer who has ever performed.

Well known Long-Time Star, Clyde Pound

Clyde Pound, who is an HSV resident, has been performing with the musical
greats who performed in Hawaii during the 33 years that he lived there, including Jimmy Borges, Mel Torme, and dozens of other singers. Clyde produced Jazz Night at The Ohio Club for 6 years where he brought talented musicians from all over Arkansas to perform in this wildly popular event. Clyde does arrangements for the Arkansas Jazz Orchestra and many other orchestras and bands. He has been active on the Board of Directors of the Jazz Society for more than a decade and has been
instrumental in putting on JazzFest in Hot Springs every Labor Day Weekend.

Smooth Style Jazz Bandleader, Gary Meggs

Gary Meggs is the jazz bandleader at UA Monticello where he also developed the
nationally recognized undergraduate jazz program which has grown to include a
graduate program. Gary is well known for his smooth style. He plays with the
Arkansas Jazz Orchestra as well as guest appearances with the Air Force Band and
others.

Also Featuring C E Askew and David Higginbotham

These three jazz greats will be joined by C E Askew on drums (Another Village
resident) and David Higginbotham on Bass.
